ABOUT

My Work

Sharing a good story is a gift .  Sharing the gospel is a blessing.

~*~

I'm inspired by many things - music, Scripture, a photograph, nature, history - and I enjoy crafting stories and telling them.

~

Genre and style?  Strictly fiction.  I go rather "wide," but the stories are grounded - I do a ton of research.  I write succinctly, hence my stories read quickly, but I inject subtle content that lingers long after the last page is turned.  There's a distinctive aftertaste.  I want to be entertaining and "real," but I won't use graphic violence or sex for shock.

~

At the end of the day, my job is to write and publish good stories.  The story is the cake.  The icing, if you will, is the never-changing, eternally-significant great news of the gospel, and each book has just the right amount of sweet icing.  I hope you will read and share both!

~

I like a good pen and a great cover.  I love a well-crafted phrase that fits into a good story.  A book is like a song and sharing it is an act of worship.  It's like breathing.

I write for joy.

". . . if we do not lift Him up, the rocks will cry out."

Luke 19:40

My History

I've been a writer all my life, but only recently became a published author.  I have a lot of good stories to tell!

~

A few of my career stops along the way have included golf professional (2 hole-in-ones aren't good enough); insurance broker (I made millions and was miserable); home builder (lost the millions); developer (want to buy some land?); fly-fishing guide/shop and live-in general store owner/manager (fun, but my children need to eat); saw-mill manager (I escaped with all my hands and feet intact); and Salvage Supervisor for Habitat for Humanity (3 years is enough - my body couldn't take the pounding).  So . . . now I plan to write/publish and proclaim the gospel the rest of my days on earth.  I have no regrets.

I want to stay connected with my readers to see what they like and don't like, but writing takes time.  I'm sure you're busy, too!

Since I'm a rather prolific contributor on Facebook - rather than blogging here and trying to be in two places at once - let's meet there!  I want you to join me on this journey!
